Two Shore Towns, Two Different Trips
Cape May and Wildwood are 20 minutes apart and feel like different worlds. Both are great. They're great for completely different reasons.
Wildwood
Free beach (no badges required). America's widest beaches. A classic amusement-park boardwalk. Affordable motels. Loud, colorful, family-chaotic in the best way. This is the Jersey Shore of your childhood if you grew up in the Northeast.
Cape May
Victorian architecture, quiet streets, $5 beach badges, B&Bs everywhere, wine tasting, fine dining. Adult-oriented. The beaches are narrower. The vibe is slower and more refined. Expect to pay more for everything.
Price Gap
Cape May's Victorian B&Bs run $200–$600+/night in peak season. Wildwood motels and hotels run $120–$350. Both have higher-end options, but Wildwood's floor price is significantly lower.
