North Wildwood Hotels: The Complete Guide

June 10, 2026

What Is North Wildwood?

North Wildwood is the northernmost of the three Wildwood boroughs, separated from Wildwood proper by a short stretch of wetlands. It has its own beach access, fewer crowds than the main boardwalk area, and a handful of quality hotels.

Why Stay in North Wildwood

  • Less noisy than Wildwood's boardwalk corridor
  • Closer to Hereford Inlet Lighthouse (one of NJ's most photographed lighthouses)
  • Still a short drive or bike ride to the boardwalk
  • Beach is the same wide Wildwood sand, just less crowded at the North Wildwood accesses

Drawbacks

Fewer hotel options overall. If you want to be walking distance from Morey's Piers, you'll need to drive from North Wildwood. The Anglesea neighborhood (North Wildwood's historic district) is charming but less commercial.

Who It's Good For

Families or couples who want the Wildwood beach experience without the boardwalk noise at night. Also good for visitors who want to pair a beach trip with exploring the Hereford Inlet area and Cape May County's quieter northern end.
