Why Wildwood Crest Is Different
Wildwood Crest is the southernmost and most resort-like of the three Wildwood boroughs. It has no amusement rides, no arcade strips — just wide beaches, mid-century motels that have been beautifully renovated, and a quieter coastal atmosphere.
The Beaches
Wildwood Crest's beaches are arguably the widest on the entire East Coast at low tide. You can walk 1,500–2,000 feet from the dune line to the water. This is both the main appeal (enormous, uncrowded beach) and the thing to know — "beachfront" in Wildwood Crest really means you'll walk 5+ minutes to the water.
Hotel Quality
Wildwood Crest has the highest concentration of renovated mid-century properties on the island. Many were built in the 1950s–60s Doo-Wop style and have been restored. If you care about aesthetics and design, Wildwood Crest is the place.
Price Point
Slightly higher than Wildwood proper — you're paying for quieter streets and better-kept properties. Expect $150–$350/night in July at quality hotels.
