The Three Wildwoods
Most visitors book "Wildwood" without realizing there are three separate boroughs: Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. Each has a different vibe, price point, and beach width.
Wildwood (Town)
The boardwalk is here. Morey's Piers, Mariner's Landing, the amusement rides — all on the Wildwood boardwalk. If you want to be steps from the action, book in Wildwood. Noisier at night, more family-chaotic, and generally cheaper per night.
Wildwood Crest
The quiet end. Wildwood Crest is the southernmost borough and has the widest beaches on the island. Hotels here tend to be nicer (more resorts, fewer motels), and the pace is slower. Better for couples and families who want calm mornings on the beach.
North Wildwood
A small strip north of the boardwalk. Fewer hotels, but close to Hereford Inlet Lighthouse and less crowded. Good middle ground.
Price Comparison
In peak summer (July), expect $150–$350/night in Wildwood, $180–$400 in Wildwood Crest, and $140–$280 in North Wildwood. Cape May (just south) runs $200–$500+ for its historic B&Bs.
