Are the Wildwood beaches really free? No beach tags?

I've heard Wildwood is one of the few Jersey Shore beaches without a fee. Is that true?

We switched from LBI to Wildwood partly because of beach tags. For a family of 5, that's $40-60 a day just to access the beach. Wildwood being free is a genuine financial win.

Yes β 100% free beach access in Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. No beach tags ever. This is a huge differentiator vs other Jersey Shore towns like Stone Harbor, Avalon, Cape May, or LBI where tags are $8-12/day. It's one of the main reasons families love Wildwood.
