Wildwood Crest: more upscale feel, bigger resort-style hotels, quieter beach, a bit more expensive. North Wildwood: scrappier, more affordable, good hotel options, closer to the north end of the boardwalk. For a first trip: Crest for a nicer/quieter experience, North Wildwood for value. Both are excellent for families.
