First beach trip with little kids. What do we need to know? What hotels are best?

Wildwood is fantastic for toddlers. The wide beach means tons of space to run and play without being near strangers. Tips: (1) Arrive at beach by 9am before it gets hot β toddlers need shade. (2) Get a beach tent/pop-up. (3) The tram car is free for under-3. (4) Morey's Piers has toddler-specific rides. (5) Beach is free, so if they last 2 hours you're still winning.

Hotel-wise, look for ground floor rooms or direct pool access β toddlers and stairs are a bad combo at 10pm. Wildwood Crest hotels tend to have more resort amenities like kiddie pools. Also: bring or rent a beach wagon. Game changer with kids that age.

The boardwalk has tons of snack spots, which toddlers love. Custard and funnel cake are mandatory. The flat boardwalk surface is easy with a stroller.
